The Baraadsar Lake is a sacred lake that lies on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh tucked between the Rupin and Supin valleys in the Western Garhwal Himalayas. The trail to Baradsaar Lake takes you through picturesque meadows, brown oak and pine forests, massive clearings with breathtaking mountain views, and finally over a ridge that separates the Rupin and Supin valleys with excellent panoramic views. Tucked away inside a massive cauldron, this bowl-shaped high altitude Baraadsar Lake has high ridges converging from all sides making it one of the least explored treks in the area. The ultimate thrill is a rewarding summit push to reach the lake which makes it a unique trek. This trek is meant for trekkers with previous trekking experience. This moderate level trek involves a good fitness level due to a series of ascents. Trek this offbeat trail to enjoy unimaginable vistas and stunning sceneries. Pre-monsoon months of mid-May and June and the post-monsoon months of September and October is the best time to do this trek. Trek Itinerary

Day 1: A one adventures organizes transport for trekkers from Dehradun railway station / joligrant in the morning which will leave for kasla camp from 7:00 am.

Total distance - 220km(9/10km)
Dehradun is one of the most beautiful places in India and is the capital of Uttarakhand. The main attraction of this place is clock tower and Rajpur Road. And one hour after reaching Mussoorie which is also known as "Queen of the hills". People visit it to celebrate the holidays with their family and friends.

After half an hour, stop at Kempty Fall. Breakfast there and witness people from different parts of the world. The break will be of maximum 50 minutes. Further peaks are visible and further you will come closer to the holy Yamuna river. If you want, you can take a short break of 25 minutes and enjoy the view around it!

Apart from this you will cross the small markets of Nainbag, Damta and Naogaon. Reach Purola around 2 pm and take a break for lunch there. After having lunch, proceeded from Purola to Jarmola. From there Kedarkantha's back is visible. Pass through the picturesque Zig Zag Road amidst the deodar forest of Jarmola.

Reach Mori and after 1 hour you will come across a check post Naitwar, and after 1 hour reach Jakhol and take a 20-minute tea break. From there you will enjoy tea or breakfast by reaching the kasla village camp site.

Day 2: trek from kasla village camp to sural thach camp

  • Total distance - 6.5 km - 6/7 hour journey

Today will be the second day of the trek. You will find an ancient temple of Someshwar Mahedava in Kasla village. Then start the trek to the right of rala village via (2658 m). Rala has many apple orchards and fields which are situated at an altitude of 2700 meters.
You can see the traditional values ​​of the villagers and the social and local life of them. This rajam, wheat and potato etc. are cultivated here. Now, the trail takes you through the dense alpine forest from where the Himalayan Mountains and Waterfalls will be seen and the famous pic can also be seen.

We will set up our camps on a wide grassland "Sural". Will set up camps and rest the night after a meal.

Day 3: Trek from Sural Camp (3230 m) to Devbasa Camp (3660 m)

  • Elevation - Devbasa 3660 m
  • Night Stay - Our camp site - will be on twin share basis.

On the third day, have breakfast in the camp and then start taking you towards the Devbasa camp. Where it gives you panoramic views of alpine, rhododenarone trees and mountains.

On the north side you will see the peaks of the Himalayas with enchanting views of a peculiar mountain along with other peaks like Swargohni with 4 peaks, Bandarpuchh Blackpik and Kesarkantha. Go through dense forest sections and gradually gain elevation. You will come to the currents on the way where you can take a break.

Devbasa is a place surrounded by lush green fields and an excellent hills. Set your camps and go to rest at night.

Day 4: Trek from Devbasa Camp to Baradasar Lake Enjoy the beautiful lake and surrounding mountain range and back to Devbasa Camp (14 km) (8 hours) (4290 m)

Today's trek on the fourth day will be the longest journey from Devbasa to the longest trails of the plains of Baradasar. The trail is moderate, there are rocks and large rocks, and you can see that the path to the other side is made of rocks, From the Baradasar ridge you can see the Baradsar Lake from afar and surround the snow mountains, calling the trek an unprecedented "wish-fulfilling lake" "Baradsar Lake". It is situated at an altitude of 4290 meters, Baradasar Lake is a pilgrimage site and is worshiped by the local people in the month of August / September. It is one of the most beautiful treks in Uttarakhand, where the flowers of Brahmakamal (the state flower of Uttarakhand) are found in large quantities, after some time, return to the Devbasa camp, enjoying the Baradasar lake trek.

Day 5: Pachithacha Shivar trekking from Devbasa camp

  • Mode of travel - walking - 7 km - 5/6 hours
  • Elevation - 2790 m

Have your breakfast on the fifth day and start your trek early, proceed your trek to get down here and there you will pass through the meadow where you will find the Kharsu oak tree.
And you can see herds of sheep and cows here, they keep grazing. Have lunch and be able to enjoy the surrounding beauty and mountain ranges.

Day 6: Pachithach (2790m) Shivar to Kasla (2500m)

Distance - 5 km - 3/4 hour journey

Mode of travel - on foot. Breakfast and start your trek, where you will descend to the seven bottom of the beautiful view and on the way you will have to pass through the Kharshu Oak, Alpine etc. tree, further you will get to see the plains area. Where you take a 20-minute break and enjoy the beautiful view of it and make your trek memorable.

Day 7: Distance from Kasal (2500m) to Dehradun (220km) (9/10 hrs.)

By Air:-
Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun is the nearest airport from Sankri but it is about 200 kms far from base camp. After your landing at Dehradun, you can travel the further journey with your trekking company by road.

By Train:-
Like the airport, Dehradun  is also the closest metal road to this trek. Further distance will have to be covered by the road to reach Bhradsar lake.

By Bus:-
After reaching Dehradun, you can catch a direct bus to Sankri from Massoorie bus stand which is just adjacent to the Dehradun railway station but before 8 am. However, you can also book the taxi to Sankri village or you can contact your trekking company to assist you.
